La Liga side Real Betis are keen on acquiring the services of Congolese forward Thievy Bifouma from Espanyol.

Betis who secured promotion back to the Spanish top-flight after 393 days in Segunda division have already brought in Dutchman Raphael Van Der Vart. They’re are hoping to capture Bifouma who is contracted to Espanyol until 2017 to partner the Dutch forward upfront to form a strong attack next season.

Bifouma has spent the last three seasons on loan at Las Palmas, West Bromwich Albion and Almeria. With the latest loan spell ending on a low note as Rojiblancos were relegated from La Liga after finishing second from bottom. However, Bifouma will probably relish the chance to work again with current Betis manager, Pepe Mel who he worked with during his days at West Brom.

Bifouma, 23, despite starring in a whopping 29 La Liga games for Almeria netted just four goals and provided one assist.
