Ghana international Richmond Boakye Yiadom has joined Dutch Eredivisie side Roda JC on a season-long loan.

Atalanta had bought the players rights from Juventus and Genoa last season but Boakye’s opportunities have been limited at the club.

“Roda JC Kerkrade have reached an agreement with Atalanta Bergamo about loaning Richmond Boakye,” a Roda club statement read.

“Boakye is a strong offensive player with experience in the Italian Serie A and the Spanish Primera Division.

“Obviously, we are pleased to have him join our line of attack.

“With Richmond in the ranks, we have more options upfront.”

Boakye has only hit double figures in a season twice, both during his time at Sassuolo, when they were in Serie B.

The Ghanaian has been called up for Ghana’s upcoming Africa cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.
