Shanghai Shenhua striker Demba Ba has recalled Besiktas’ games against Liverpool and Arsenal from an unforgettable season.

The 30-year-old Senegal international joined Chinese side Shanghai over the summer for €14 million from the Turkish Super Lig side, but admitted he made some great memories in the one season at the club.

“There are many memorable matches but I will never forget the game against Liverpool, Arsenal and the hat-trick against Feyenoord,” Ba told AMK.

Besiktas drew at home to Arsenal in the Champions League play-off stages, before being beat 1-0 at the Emirates.

However, their fortunes were on an upturn when they knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League 5-4 on penalties.

On top of that, Ba also helped Besiktas see off Feyenoord in the Champions League play-off stages also, with a hat-trick helping down their Dutch opponents.

Ba scored 29 goals in all competitions for Besiktas last season, before making a shock move to the Chinese Super League.
