Feghouli goal up for UCL award
Algerian international Sofiane Feghouli’s goal which earned Valencia a win at Olympique Lyon has been nominated by UEFA for Champions League goal of match day two.
Feghouli faces stiff competition from the likes of Luis Suarez of Barcelona, in-form Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Chris Smalling of Manchester United and Maxime Lestienne of PSV Eindhoven respectively for the top prize
The 25-year old winger impressively blasted in from 25 yards at the end of a counter-attack to hand Valencia its first win in this season Champions League group stage.
Valencia lost their opening game at home 3-2 to Zenit St Petersburg and they needed to win this one to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive.
