Algerian star Sofiane Feghouli has been voted best African player in the Spanish La Liga for the 2014/15 season.

The Algerian international becomes the second player to win the individual accolade after his compatriot Brahimi won the maiden in 2013.

Feghouli shook off uninspiring performances at the beginning of the campaign to help Valencia clinch fourth spot and a Champions League berth.

He contributed to 12 goals out of the 72 Valencia scored, scoring six and assisting six. The highlight of his season was assisting Paco Alcacer’s crucial goal which confirmed Los Che’s participation in Europe’s elite club competition this season.

The fast and skillful midfielder signed a four-year deal with Valencia in 2010. But endured a difficult debut season which resulted in him being farmed out to UD Almeria.

However, after his return from Almeria, where he scored barely two goals in nine games, He has become an integral member of the squad. His figures for Valencia are 129 games and 19 goals.
