Lacina Traore eyes World Cup call-up
Ivorian Lacina Traore is eyeing a World Cup call-up as he works under Everton boss Roberto Martinez.
The 23-year-old said the game plan at Everton suits his style and as he aims at more game time, he may catch the eye of the Elephants’ coach Sabri Lamouchi. Traore rejected a move to West Ham from Russian side Anzhi.
“I looked at the styles of play of the two teams we are talking about and the way in which Everton play is more of a passing side and that style suited my technical ability,” MTNfootball quoted him.
“I want to be able to be performing at my absolute top level if I can and I am aware at the back of my mind the World Cup is looming.”
Ivory Coast have been paired in the same group with Colombia, Greece and Japan at the global football showpiece.
