Egypt international Mohamed El-Nenny has successfully passed his medical at English Premier League side Arsenal FC.

Egyptian site KingFut reports a few days ago that the 23-year-old was due to undergo his Arsenal medical in Paris on last Tuesday.

El-Nenny is understood to have successfully passed the tests pending the way for his reported imminent transfer to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old Egypt international, who moved to Switzerland in 2013, had already agreed personal terms for his move to the Emirates as cover for the injured Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla.

El-Nenny will sign a four-and-a-half year deal with the English Premier League title contenders, subject to receiving his work permit.

Mohamed El-Nenny having featured in every competitive match for the Pharaohs over the past two years, they are expected to be granted special dispensation to sign him (more than the minimum requirement of 75%). Arsenal will first have to go through an appeal process, though, as the regulations for being granted a work permit have changed this year, requiring the player’s country to be ranked by FIFA among the top 50 nations – rather than the top 70 – while the Pharaohs are currently ranked 57th in the world.
