Liverpool, Stoke City and Aston Villa are set to battle it out for the signing of Barcelona winger Adama Traore, on loan.

Stoke and Villa have joined the race to sign the highly-rated winger, who has represented Spain at Under-19 level.

Barcelona are not prepared to let the player leave on a permanent basis, although they have reduced his release clause to £4.2 million according to the Daily Mail.

The Catalan giants are understood to be prepared to insert a buy-back clause in the player’s contract, should they chose to sell the player.

Traore is keen to play regular first-team football this season, and Stoke could be seen as the preferable option, with former teammates Bojan Krkic and Marc Muniesa at the Britannia Stadium.

Liverpool are believed to have sent representatives to Spain to discuss a move with Barcelona, however, there is yet to be real developments from those initial talks.

Traore,19, who can represent Mali, made his La Liga debut aged 17.
