Obi fires Watford to victory

Watford striker Ogo Obi was on target as the Development squad thrashed Millwall 3-0 in a pre-season friendly staged at UCL on Monday.

Coach Harry Kewell brought on Obi in the 70th minute and the Nigerian made the most of the chance by scoring to seal victory for Watford.

Ogo Obi scored the third goal from close-range in the closing minutes , after Matej Vydra had fired the Hornets ahead and Alex Jakubiak had doubled the tally.

Last season, he assisted Watford U18s claim top-spot in the Professional Development League 2 South, by scoring eight goals.

The teenager, who has been hailed as the “Nigerian Messi”, penned a three-year deal, including scholarship forms and a pro deal, with the Vicarage Stadium outfit in 2014, and has not made his competitive debut for the first team.
