Inaki Williams was the only player to have a successful time in a bad weekend for African players in La Liga.

Spanish-born Ghanaian midfielder Inaki Williams had a brilliant game as Athletic Bilbao beat Almeria 2-1 at San Mames stadium. Ghana midfielder  Thomas Partey and Congo striker Thievy Bifouma were in action for Almeria while Ramon Azeez watched the game from the Almeria bench.

Sofiane Feghouli helped Valencia to defeat Elche 4-0 to hold onto third place in La Liga, as Mendes Rodriques and Fayçal Fajr featured for the Elche.

Mehdi Lacer and Papa Diawara were in action for Getafe who lost 2-0 at Atletico Madrid.

Cape Verde’s Heldon Ramos lasted only 35 minutes in Cordoba’s 3-1 loss against Real Sociedad at Anoeta stadium.

However, Cameroon’s Patrick Ekeng and Algeria’s Nabil Ghilas failed to make Cordoba’s first team squad for the game.

Levante’s Kalu Uche, Papakouli Diop and Nabil El-Zhar suffered a painful 1-0 to Celta Vigo in Valencia.

Manucho Concalves came on as a substitute in the 36th minute to help Rayo Vallencano claim maximum points against visiting Malaga who fielded Carlos Kameni and Nordi Amrabat.

Both Allan Nyom and Abdoulwhaid Sissoko had a frustrating night with Granada as Nazaries were held to a goalless draw by Eibar. Youssef El-Arabi and Derek Boateng were unused substitutes for Eibar.

Defender Eric Bailly and striker Ike Uche, who came on as a substitute in the second half for Villarreal, could not stop Stephane M’bia’s Sevilla for the fourth time this season in front of their fans, Sevilla winning 2-0.
