Ligue 1 side Bordeaux will be without the services of winger Henri Saivet for the start of the domestic season.
Saivet has injured his knee, and a statement on the club’s website has estimated he will require four weeks for the knee to sufficiently heal up.
“The midfielder suffers from knee pain requiring complete rest for four weeks. We wish him a speedy recovery,” read the club statement.
In the meantime, Saivet will miss out on the rest of Bordeaux’s pre-season preparations in Italy, as well as the first three fixtures in Ligue 1 against Montpellier on the 9th of August, Monaco on the 17th and Nice on the 23rd respectively.
Saivet, who debuted for the Teranga Lions of Senegal in August 2013, managed seven goals for Les Girondins last season in all competitions.
